We offer a range of devices to provide protection to the head and face. This includes both soft and hard protection devices suitable for a range of different needs. Soft head protection is ideal for low level impact and hard protection is suited for those situations where the face or head is likely to come into contact with higher impact. We are able to provide custom made and stock devices depending on your requirements.

What is the process to be receive head or face protection?

To establish the appropriate device for your needs your orthotist will undertake an assessment of your head/face. This will include discussing your relevant medical history plus the type of protection you require. Whether you want protection when walking on icy roads or want to return to playing sport our orthotists will be able to advise appropriately. Once the appropriate device has been selected your orthotist will need to take a series of measurements and if required a cast or scan of your head/face. Once the relevant information has been gathered your device will be able to be manufactured. Orthotics UK able able to provide numerous designs and patterns depending on the type of device selected for you. Following manufacturing you will return to see your orthotist for a fitting session to ensure the device is comfortable to wear.

What is the process to be receive a face mask?

To receive a suitable face mask your orthotist will undertake an assessment to establish which part of your face the mask is required to protect . Your orthotist will discuss whether you will need a full face or partial coverage face mask. To ensure your face mask fits comfortably your orthotist will take a series of measurements as well as a scan of your face. By scanning your face your orthotist is able to create a face mask that reflects the contours of your face accurately. Once manufactured your orthotist will check the fit of the face mask and make any adjustments if required.

A-Flex Protective Headgear

The A-Flex is constructed from flexible plastic enabling the helmet to conform to the patient's head to provide the best fit possible. The helmets are available in a range of colours and sizes to suit all patients style and preferences. Your orthotist will also be able to make some small adjustments within the size ranges to ensure a comfortable fit.

Protective helmets are available in both custom and stock sizes. Your orthotist will therefore complete a full assessment, discussing your needs and wants from your protective helmet. This will then help your orthotist to select the most appropriate device for you. To ensure your helmet fits your orthotist will take a series of measurements and if your helmet is to be custom made your orthotist may also that a scan of your head.


Ribcap

Ribcap is a new cranial protection device which incorporates both safety and fashion. The Ribcap uses sewn in viscoelastic protectors to absorb impacts which may occur. Whilst the Ribcap is not a helmet is does provide protection against low level impacts. Ribs caps are available for children and adults.

The Ribcap offers a specific level of protection to the head and skull therefore your orthotist will complete a thorough assessment as to whether the Ribcap is suitable for your needs. If deemed appropriate your orthotist will then discuss the range available to you and will take a series of measurements to establish the correct size. Your Ribcap will then be ordered and you will be required to return for a fitting appointment to ensure your Ribcap provides the required protection.
