What is the process for my child to receive bespoke footwear?

The process for your child to receive bespoke footwear would be:

  • Assessment
  • Measuring / Casting
  • Fitting
  • Review

Your child will undergo a full assessment to establish the type of footwear suitable for their requirements. This assessment will include looking at the range of motion in their feet, ankles and legs it will also look at any additional support they may require. The orthotist will then take a series of measurements and may need to take a cast of your child’s feet. Your child will then, with the orthotist’s advice, be able to select the footwear they would like from a large range, with many personalisation options including colours and fastenings. Your child’s information will then be passed on to the manufacturer for production to begin. Your child may be required to come for a trial fitting to ensure the fit is correct prior to final production.

Our orthotists have the freedom to choose from any suitable manufactures which gives your child a greater choice of colours and styles helping them to stay unique.
